On Thursday, February 16, 2023, Richard Alan Barsky, of Silver Spring, MD passed away. Beloved husband of Carol (nee Shapiro); devoted father of Anne (Matthew), Jeffrey (Annmarie) and Jared (Hannah); loving brother of Carol Seebach; cherished grandfather of Nathan, Samantha, Leah and Emma; also survived by his beloved dogs Gracie and Sofi.

Richard was born in Baltimore, Maryland on September 29, 1949. He moved to Silver Spring at an early age. In 1965, he met the love of his life, Carol at age 15 at Montgomery Blair High School. He graduated from the University of Maryland with an accounting degree in 1972 and became a CPA shortly thereafter. Richard loved his family, was dedicated to his career, and was an avid Maryland Terps fan. Richard generously provided charitable services to individuals and organizations, including SEEC of Silver Spring, Maryland. Richard and Carol celebrated 51 years of marriage last August. Richard passed from complications related to cancer on February 16th. He was so loved and will be deeply missed.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, 1p.m. at Judean Chapel, 16225 Batchellors Forest Road, Olney, MD 20832 with interment to follow at Judean Memorial Gardens. Minyan will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday evening at the Barsky Residence. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SEEC or American Cancer Society .
