Devoted father of Alan (Louise) and Eric (Doreen); adored by grandchildren, Rebecca, Joshua, Seth and Jacob and Noah and loving brother of Elaine Fisch Swanson. Richard moved to Bethesda in 2003 from St. Paul, Minnesota. In Minnesota, he enjoyed a long and distinguished career as research corporate scientist at 3M Company, where he was named a member of the Carlton Society. As a result of his research, he earned 40 patents in photographic and printing technologies. Services will be private.
