IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Roberta Gail
Brugg
September 14, 1950 – March 10, 2022
Brugg - - Roberta "Bobbi" Brugg died at home in Chevy Chase, Maryland surrounded by family on March 10,2022 after a battle with cancer. She was born to Sol and Lillian Corenthal on September 14,1950 and raised in New York City. Bobbi spent summers at Camp Wahconah/Potomac in the Berkshires where she formed lifelong friendships and graduated from Syracuse University. Along with her husband, Alan, of 49 years, they raised their children in Stamford, Connecticut, where she was an active participant in the community. Bobbi was a past co-president of the Stamford Chapter of the National Council of Jewish Women and for years served as a volunteer reading partner in the Stamford public schools. Bobbi is survived by her husband Alan; children Allison and Ben Bawden (Bethesda, Maryland), and Jordan and Maria (Fekete) (Summit, New Jersey); and her brother Warren Corenthal and their mother Lillian (Tamarac, Florida). Her greatest joy was her grandchildren: Samuel and Elena Bawden, and Adeline, Molly, and Jack Brugg. To them, she was either Mommo or Mimi.
Bobbi was intelligent, with a dry wit and a genuine love for history and an appreciation for different cultures. She had an amazing cackle that brightened your day. She was an avid reader of books and magazines, loved Broadway, and would never pass up a good art exhibition or museum. She had a passion for travel and eagerly shared her extensive itineraries with her family and friends. She also enjoyed playing mahjong and could be found at the Lakeside Diner most mornings enjoying breakfast with Alan. She read the New York Times from cover to cover daily and completed the crossword puzzles, in pen. As a loyal friend who would always tell it like it is, she will be greatly missed and loved by many.
A memorial service will be held in Clarksburg, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in her name to the National Council of Jewish Women or Trip of a Lifetime, which will provide students from New York the opportunity to travel. Online condolences may be left for the family at https://www.sagelbloomfield.com/.
