Sandy Shooman, 78, of Columbia, Maryland passed away on Sunday December 31, 2023.  Sandy was a beloved educator who cared deeply for family, friends, and animals (especially dogs).  Born in Washington, DC to Ruby and Harry Kaster, Sandy was happily married to Ted Shooman for 56 years.  She was a caring mother to Rena, Teri Folden (Jamie) and Rick (Liz); proud Bubie to Andrew, Nicole, Matthew, Nathan, Sela, Hollie Folden and Harry Folden; loving sister to Joan Delovitch (Ron) and Sherry Cohen (Saul); and aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service to be held on Friday January 5, 2023, 10am at Judean Memorial Gardens Chapel, 16225 Batchellors Forest Rd, Olney, MD 20832. The family will be observing Shiva at the home of Ted Shooman Saturday through Thursday from 6pm to 8pm, with services starting at 7pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Maryland SPCA (https://www.mdspca.org/).
