Barman
April 6, 1960 – August 18, 2022
Scott Allan Barman died unexpectedly August 18th, 2022 at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, MD. Born April 6th, 1960 in Brooklyn, NY. He was the son of the late Marvin Lester Barman and the late Lorri Linda Barman. He was a 1978 graduate of South Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, NC. Scott received his BS in Computer Science from the University of Georgia in 1983, where he was a proud member of the Redcoat Marching band. Scott also received his Master's Degree in Information Security and Technology and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University in 2000. He was an information security engineer for NBC and other companies and contract organizations for the government. He was also an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland, as well as served as a political coordinator for the Golden Silver PAC. Scott was an avid coin collector, belonging to several numismatic associations. He was a published author and wrote an award winning coin collector's blog. He also loved antiques and collectibles, which led him to start his own company, Maryland Estate Treasures. He also had a love for vintage automobiles and would attend many classic car shows. Scott loved sports and was a huge fan of the University of Georgia Bulldogs, New York Mets, New York Giants, New York Knicks and New York Islanders. Scott also had a passion for dogs and donated to the Humane Society, ASPCA and other various rescue organizations.
Scott is preceded in death by his first wife Elisa and his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Dr. Linda Roy, his brother Joel Barman (Joanna) of Indian Trail, NC. His brother David Barman (Keren) of North Miami Beach, FL, his nephews Binyomin Barman (Elka) of Teaneck, NJ. Eliezer Barman of North Miami Beach, FL, Jacob Barman of Indian Trail, NC , his niece Emma Barman of Indian Trail, NC, and his great niece Eliana Barman of Teaneck, NJ. Scott is also survived by his Aunts, Uncle and many cousins who adored him. A graveside service will be held August 30th at 1pm at Beth Moses Cemetery in West Babylon, NY.
