Stanley Mark Stern, born Aug. 29, 1950, passed away peacefully on Sept. 26, surrounded by his beloved family. Family formed the core of Stan's life, from his marriage to his sweetheart Judy on July 11, 1972, to his career running the business started by his father. Beyond his love for his family, he was an avid golfer, skier, an active alumni member of Phi Epislon Pi at the University of Maryland and was also a member of Amity Club of Washington, DC. He was preceded in death by his parents Max and Phyllis and his sister Marti Stern Bernstein. Stan is survived by Judy, his son Jared Stern and his wife Andrea Klee, daughter Lauren Somers and her husband Ira Somers, and his seven grandchildren (who lovingly called him their Grandstan). His community of family and friends will remember his sharp sense of humor, his generous spirit, and his wise counsel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish Social Service Agency (jssa.org) and to First Tee, a youth development organization (firstteedc.org). A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, 12pm at Judean Memorial Gardens, 16225 Batchellors Forest Rd Olney, MD.
