Dr. Stephen I. Katz On December 20, 2018, Dr. Stephen I. Katz of Bethesda, Maryland, died. He was Director of the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases at NIH for the last 24 years and a world-recognized scientist and dermatologist. He is survived by Linda, his devoted wife of 51 years, and his children, Mark Katz, Kenneth Katz and Karen Katz (Darryl Bouganim), grandson, Benjamin Bouganim and numerous loving cousins, friends and colleagues. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 11:30 a.m. at Temple Shalom, 8401 Grubb Road, Chevy Chase, MD, with burial to follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Garden of Remembrance, 14321 Comus Road, Clarksburg, MD. Donations in Steve's memory can be made to support the American Academy of Dermatology's Strauss & Katz World Congress of Dermatology Fund, which helps young dermatologists from developing countries attend dermatology meetings.
