IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Stuart Jay
Friedman
January 7, 1941 – January 9, 2025
Stuart Jay Friedman, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on January 9, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on January 7, 1941, Stuart was raised in New York, where he cultivated a passion for learning and a commitment to excellence. His situation in life and his dedication to his country led him to serve in the Army through the ROTC program, where he demonstrated leadership and discipline as an officer.
Stuart earned a degree in Nuclear Chemical Engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and received his law degree from New York University. He enjoyed a successful career as an intellectual property attorney that reflected his intelligence and integrity.
A lifelong golfer and horseman, Stuart found joy in the outdoors, the thrill of the chase and the challenge of achieving "par-fection". He was an avid foxhunter and a huge fan of Thoroughbred horse racing, passionately supporting the second careers of ex-racehorses. Stuart retired to his custom-built 40-acre dream horse farm in Mount Airy, MD, where he spent the last twenty-five years accumulating cherished moments with his family and horses.
Stuart is survived by his devoted wife, Ina, his two children, Michael and Lori, and his daughter-in-law, Emily Friedman. He also leaves behind his brother, Mark, and his wife, Marsha, nephew Jason and niece Alissa, along with his beloved horses, Kip and David, and his grandpups, Samson, Smooches, Jefferson, and Nahla.
A funeral service celebrating Stuart's life will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 2 PM at the Garden of Remembrance: Gan Zikaron Memorial Park, located at 14321 Comus Road, Clarksburg, MD 20871. A brief "Shiva" (visit to the family home) will be held that same evening between 5pm and 7:30pm at the Friedman home for anyone interested in attending. In lieu of flowers, food or other tangible contributions to the family, a fund has been created in honor of Stuart Friedman at the Mid-Atlantic Horse Rescue. You can either send checks to MidAtlantic Horse Rescue, PO Box 407, Chesapeake City MD 21915 or donate online through the website: www.midatlantichorserescue.org or through venmo @MIDATLANTICHORSERESCUE, indicating in any case that the donation is in memory of Stuart Friedman.
