IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sue Fisher
Carr
May 9, 1957 – June 17, 2025
Sue Fisher Carr, a beloved member of the Carr and Fisher/Unger/Linas family, passed away on June 17, 2025 at the age of 68 after a difficult and valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. Sue grew up in Richmond, Virginia and went to Thomas Jefferson High School. She attended Florida State University for her undergraduate degree and then earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (with honors) from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. Sue loved her many dogs throughout her life and she was an avid equestrian.
Sue was known for her big heart and warm personality - it is safe to say that she never met a stranger! Her zest for life and desire to live it to the fullest was contagious. She was devoted to her family and friends, and fiercely loved those close to her. Sue will be remembered for her kind nature and entrepreneurial spirit. She enjoyed spending time in nature, especially at the beach, reading, listening to/playing music and being with her family. Sue's presence and positive energy will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and friendship that will never be forgotten.
Sue worked tirelessly as a pharmacist, both in the retail and hospital settings. After a "lightbulb moment" while attending pharmacy school, she conceptualized a medical device that would revolutionize the medical field and patient care. She spent many years developing and actualizing the production of the device that will very soon impact the lives of millions. The FROG (Filter Removal of Glass) needle recently received FDA approval, which is a monumental accomplishment in itself. Sue has won numerous awards for her medical device and has been showcased in several articles about her journey to developing the FROG. Sue continued to mentor students at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and was an active board member of the Washington Metropolitan Society of Health-System Pharmacists (WMSHP).
Sue's team at CarrTech, the company she founded, will continue to carry out her vision of making medical preparation safer with the ongoing work of her groundbreaking invention.
Sue was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Lawrence and Roberta Fisher, and is survived by her husband Richard Carr, her sons Benjamin and Joshua (Kaitlin), her sister Amy Unger (Don) as well as her nieces Melissa and Leslie.
Sue's funeral will be held on Friday, June 20 at 10:00 AM at Garden of Remembrance Memorial Park (14321 Comus Rd, Clarksburg, MD 20871). A reception will follow at 4051 Stanford Ct, Frederick MD 21703.
