IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Suzanne
Menkes
August 7, 1943 – May 6, 2024
Suzanne Menkes, beloved mother of Deborah and Robert Menkes, cherished grandmother of Caroline, Max, Jacob, and Ethan, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2024. She was the loving wife of Stephen Menkes, who preceded her in death in 2022.
Suzanne was born and raised in Queens, NYC, where she shared her childhood with her sister, Theresa, and brother, Peter. A dedicated nurse for many years, Suzanne's compassion and caring nature touched the lives of countless patients. Later, she became the proud owner and administrator of an adult care facility in New York, where she continued to serve her community with empathy and professionalism.
Above all, Suzanne treasured her family. She found immense joy in the company of her children and grandchildren, creating memories that will be forever cherished. Suzanne always put her children and grandchildren ahead of her own needs and made sure they had everything they needed and more. She was the best storyteller and made her family laugh every day. Suzanne was also respected for her honesty - she was never scared to speak her mind and tell it like it was, a quality that her family deeply respected and embraced. Suzanne had a unique zest for life and a passion for travel. She traveled with her children and grandchildren around the world, taking them to new places and instilling in them how important it was to see the world and have different experiences. In her retirement years, she found solace in the serene beauty of Cape Cod and later embraced the warmth and tranquility of Puerto Rico, but was happiest whenever she was anywhere with her family.
Suzanne will be remembered for her selflessness, strength, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy of compassion and devotion will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Forever in our hearts and our heads, Suzanne will be dearly missed but never forgotten. We hope and pray that she is in peace and is continuing to watch over all of us with a smile.
