It is with great sadness that the family of TANYA C. RIZE announces her passing on Saturday, August 12, 2017 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Tanya, loving and devoted wife to Martin Rize will be remembered by her beloved family including sons, Greg (Sherri) and Marc (Denise) and grandchildren, Jared, Alexandra, Melissa and Rachel Ozeryan (Vladimir) and great grandchildren Hana and Jaxon. Tanya and Marty were happily married for 51 years and were longtime residents of Bowie. Tanya worked for the Bowie Blade and the City of Bowie. Once retired, she enjoyed traveling with Marty, volunteering with prenatal babies, singing in the Bowie Senior Chorale, playing mahjong and socializing with her many friends. Tanya's favorite time was that which was spent with her children and (great) grandchildren. Tanya will be remembered for her friendly, caring, and positive attitude. Shiva will be held on Monday, August 21, 2017 at Tanya's house located at 12512 Brewster Lane, Bowie, MD 20175. She will be laid to rest with her husband Marty at Arlington National Cemetery at a date to be determined by Arlington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Children's National Hospital .
