Theodore (Ted) Jason Lettes, our beloved father and friend, passed peacefully on 7 September 2014, in Chevy Chase, MD. He lived a very full 91 years, thanks in part to your love and support. He is survived by his children Judy and Jeff; granddaughters Jessica, Ana and Rebecca; and many other family members and friends. He is predeceased by our beloved mother Barbara.
Born in New Haven, CT, Ted was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Yale University, majoring in Latin American Affairs. He served in the Army at Arlington Hall in a Washington DC suburb during WWII and continued as a Reserve Officer into the 1960s. Upon graduation from Yale, he supported his father's small clothier business. He then worked at the Yale Council on Community Affairs before moving the family to Washington DC in the early 1970s. In DC he worked as a Technologist for the Department of Commerce Office Of Minority Business Enterprise (OMBE) and then the Office of Technology Utilization from which he retired in his 70s.
