Thomas Robert Alm passed away October 15, 2024 at the age of 72. Tom is survived by his wife Sharon; two children Alex (Kylie) and Jillian; and two grandchildren Katherine and Cameron. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Tom was a two-time graduate of Wake Forest University (BA '74, MBA '82), and Tom remained a life-long supporter of Wake athletics.  At Wake Forest, Tom was an accomplished swimmer, including as a tri-captain of the university's swim team, a 5-time school record holder, and as the youngest head coach of a university swimming team in NCAA history. After retiring from a successful career in real estate management, Tom took on many home improvement projects, big and small, and especially enjoyed teaching his children how to fix and build projects in their own homes. Tom was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed golf, traveling the world, rooting for the Washington Nationals, and a homemade pumpkin pie. He will be remembered as the most honest person any of us knew, and a loyal friend who took great pleasure in helping his friends and family in any way that he could.
