Vincent Henry Demma, September, 18, 2018. Beloved husband of Stephanie Demma (nee Lippman); loving father of Matthew Demma, Rachel Demma, and Sarah Klein; adored grandfather of Noah and Sophie Demma and Eliana and Jacob Klein; cherished brother of Peter Demma. Vincent was born on December 9, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY and was a resident of Maryland at the time of his passing. A graduate of both Columbia University and the University of Wisconsin at Madison, Vincent moved to Washington, DC in 1962 to work as a military historian for the U.S. Army Center of Military History, where he served until his retirement in 1999. As a historian of the Vietnam War, Vincent was widely consulted and contributed his expertise to several documentaries and books about the war. A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 23, 10 a.m. at Judean Memorial Gardens, 16225 Batchellors Forest Rd., Olney, MD 20832. Family will receive guests immediately following the burial at the home of Sarah Klein. Please omit flowers. Contributions may be made to the Southern Poverty Law Center or to a charity of your choice.
