Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away peacefully on May 28, 2026. He was born and raised as an only child in Jacksonville, Florida with a large extended family.
Bill started his real estate career as an executive in Jacksonville, soon moving to Long Island to work at Levitt & Sons, where he oversaw the construction of many thousands of houses in the New York and Washington D.C. areas.
From 1971 to 1976, Bill worked in the heavy construction business as president of the Arundel Corp in Baltimore, MD. He was later involved in various construction development businesses. He built and operated office buildings, hotels, and apartments. Bill proudly served on many boards over the years. His greatest passion and pride was his family.
He is survived by his wife Gail, his daughters Lisa Isaac Riebman (Jerry) and Robin Meyer (Greg), his sons Bill (Sue) Prutting and Tony (Tina) Prutting, nine grandchildren, and a new great-granddaughter. Bill was loved by many and lived a big life, punctuated by travel and many great meals accompanied by his wonderful wine collection and ample Crown Royal. He will live forever in our hearts.
There will be a private celebration of life. Donations can be made to Jewish Social Service Agency (Jssa) or the charity of your choice.Services entrusted to Sagel Bloomfield Danzansky Goldberg Funeral Care.
