Betty Burak Levin of Silver Spring, MD died from Covid complications on January 13th, surrounded by her family. She was 100 years old. Betty is survived by her beloved husband of 73 years, Joseph, her children, Alyn Hadar (Leon), Sandra Levin (the late Fred Fragasso), Mark Levin (Alicia) and Frank Levin (Nancy.) She is also survived by five grandchildren, Lesley Levin, Adam Levin, Zarah Levin Fragasso, Hannah Levin and Jeremy Levin. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Samuel and Greena Burak as well as her siblings, Ida Wiesel, Gertrude Wolf, Nathan Burak and Benjamin Burak.
Betty was a native Washingtonian and a die-hard Washington sports fan, especially the 2019 World Series Champions, the Nationals. She loved to entertain, hosted large holiday dinners and would say, “there was always room for one more.” In light of the pandemic, a private family service will be held at Gardens of Remembrance, Clarksburg, MD.
