Christopher "Chris" Wedding Obituary

Christopher “Chris” Lee Wedding passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at his home in College Park, Maryland,

Chris will always be remembered as one of the kindest and most positive people this world has to offer. He was often referred to as a gentle giant and bigger than life to all that knew him.

Chris grew up in College Park, Maryland where he was a member of the College Park Boys & Girls Club, not only playing various sports with the club, but also umpiring baseball games. Chris graduated from St. Vincent Pallotti High School, in 2002. During his time there, he was a member of the school chorus along with the football, baseball, and wrestling teams. From there, Chris went on to graduate from Frostburg State University in 2007, graduating with a BS in Psychology while playing football for Frostburg State University and becoming a founding brother and the first President of Phi Mu Delta fraternity. Chris graduated from Frostburg and became the Assistant Director of Transportation for CSAAC. During his time at CSAAC, his work and compassion  for the autism community was unmatched. In his pastime, Chris also worked part-time at Flying Dog Brewery where he not only worked tasting events, but was the life of the event itself. Chris also found a love for wrestling & martial arts in his younger years that became a passion for mixed Martial Arts that was rediscovered at Soldier Fit, Frederick Maryland. Chris participated in MMA competitions while coaching and mentoring others in the gym. Chris loved all things sports, including his favorite hockey team, the Washington Capitals and football team Houston Texans. Chris will also be remembered for grilling & smoking meats for get-togethers with family and friends.

Other than his kindness towards others, Chris will most be remembered for his love of family. Chris is survived by his son Ryan Holdcraft-Wedding, his parents Leon & Janice Wedding (of the home), sister and brother-in-law Caryn & Nathan Scott, (Greenville, NC), his nephew and niece, Jeremy & Shauna Scott (Greenville, NC), great aunt Marilyn (Allen) Shapiro, great uncle David (Lisa) Ulanow, aunts Trudi Cora, Lisa (Ken) Slotz, uncle Eric Drucker, girlfriend Becky Phelps, and countless cousins.

As Chris always said: Hard work pays off, dreams come true, and bad times won't last!
