Born September 4, 1967, Daniel Blanken Roth died May 3, 2021. Son of Joan and Paul Roth, Daniel is survived by his sister Sandra Roth (Mary Vaskas), his brother Richard Roth (Linda), nephews Jake and Michael, niece Jennifer, aunts Shirlee Blanken and Charlotte Wolfe, uncle Bill Blanken, and a close circle of cousins.
Known for his generosity and devotion to his family and loyal, supportive friends, Dan was always quick with a warm smile and kind words.
At Walt Whitman High School, Dan played football. After graduating, he studied Liberal Arts at Lynn University. His large circle of friends includes many from those school days.
He was passionate about professional sports, especially the Capitals hockey team, The Washington Football Team, and the Nationals. Live music was another focal point of his active life. Dan combined his love of attending live events with business, carving his own path by creating a successful ticket brokerage.
Dan was an ardent lover of animals, especially his dog Rip. He enjoyed travel, including the beauty and peace of visiting the mountains, and experiencing the culture of other countries such as Brazil.
Dan embraced life with eager gusto, and was happiest when surrounded by family members of all generations and his close-knit group of friends. Making and keeping friends was always important to Dan, and he loved entertaining one and all at barbecues he hosted at his Rockville home.
There will be a celebration of life at a future date when in-person gatherings are safe. If you are moved to give, please consider a contribution to an animal welfare organization of your choice.
