On Saturday, August 15, 2015, Harriet Munchick Kriesberg of Bethesda, MD passed from this life. Born in Brooklyn, NY on May 20, 1923. Wife of the late Martin Kriesberg; mother of Simeon M. (Martha L. Kahn) Kriesberg, Maida K. (Barry A.) Lerman, Ellis M. (Stephanie M.) Kriesberg, Caleb M. Kriesberg, and Joshua D. (Jane M. Lichty) Kriesberg; grandmother of Sarah, David, Lea, Max, Benjamin, Talia, Micah, and Shoshanah; sister of the late Marvin Munchick, Rhoda (Edwin) Davidson, and Helene Sokal.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 11 a.m. at Washington Hebrew Congregation, 3935 Macomb St., NW, Washington, DC. Interment will follow at Garden of Remembrance, Clarksburg, MD. Family will observe shiva at the late residence at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19, and Thursday, August 20. Memorial contributions may be made to Washington Hebrew Congregation, 3935 Macomb St., NW, Washington, DC 20016 (designated to the Kriesberg Fund) or American Jewish Committee, 1156 15th St., NW, Washington, DC 20005.
