HENRY COOPERSMITH "Hank" (Age 80) Peacefully on January 20, 2022, with his beloved wife, Rita Horowitz Coopersmith, at his side. Beloved father of Robin DiGiuseppe (Marco), Jill Rizzo (Frank) and the late Melissa Shelly and Elysa Sherry Coopersmith. Son of the late Rose (nee Oisboid) and Joseph Coopersmith; brother of the late E. Gerald Coopersmith (Emilee Coopersmith). Loving Pop of Gabriella and Antonio DiGiuseppe and Thomas and Nicholas Rizzo. As a student at Paul Junior High, Hank won first prize for the Fisher Body Craftsman award for the design of an automobile for General Motors. After high school, he worked for Congressman William Levi Dawson on Capitol Hill. He then decided to go to beauty school and later he owned and managed beauty salons in Silver Spring and Wheaton. During his semi-retirement, he worked for Montgomery County Public Schools as a school bus attendant for emotionally and physically disabled children. Hank was happiest with the these things: his children, grandchildren, smoking his pipe in Annapolis, spending time in Rehoboth watching the ocean and loving the simpler things in life. Graveside service at King David Memorial Gardens, Falls Church, VA, on Sunday, January 23 at 11 a.m. A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shriners's Hospital for Children (shrinerschildrens.org), St. Jude's Hospital for Children (stjude.org) or Make a Wish Foundation (wish.org).
