Jorge Luis Hernandez, 59, of Silver Spring, Md passed away at home on May 29th, 2022. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 29, 1962 to the late Carmen Vadiz and William Hernandez. He grew up both in Puerto Rico and New Jersey with his family where he played sports and especially loved talking about how he used to run track. He joined the army in his early years and was proud to be a part of the 82nd airborne unit. He later moved to Maryland where he married, built a contracting business and lived into his later years. Jorge was active coaching his sons and others in multiple sports including wrestling, football, and softball. He was a handy man, fond of fishing, his Philadelphia Eagles, and spending time with his family and friends. Whether he was playing pool in a league with his wife or riding a rolling coaster with his grandchildren, Jorge was present. He will be sorely missed by all, especially by his loving wife of 30 years, LaTisa. He is survived by his 5 children (Jorge Jr., Brittany, Gia, Randall, and Blake) and 11 grandchildren (Jorge III, Julio, Hadassah, Aliyah, Jionni, Navah, Gavriella, Sarah, Maverick, Yoshiyahu, and Theophanes). He is also survived by his siblings Jenny Castro, Nancy Harvey, Danny Vadiz, Flower Vadiz, Benny Vadiz, Frankie Rodriguez, and Reina Rodriguez. His many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends will miss him greatly. Jorge was loved by so many he came in contact with. His distinct voice, authenticity, work ethic, and big smile was unmatched and will be missed by everyone.
