Julia Schecker Obituary

Julia Schecker, age 94, died on May 16, 2020, at her home in Silver Spring, Maryland, of natural causes.  She was the beloved wife of 58 years of the late Irwin Schecker; devoted mother of Larry Schecker and David Schecker (Vicki Bonnington); and devoted grandmother of Justin Schecker and Sarah Schecker.  She is survived by her dear brother, Joel (Fern) Zeitlin; seven nieces and nephews, and 10 grand- and great-grand nieces and nephews. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Julia was the daughter of Hyman and Rose (Dauer) Zeitlin.  She was devoted to her family, and an active volunteer all her life at hospitals on Long Island and Chicago, at Give Kids the World in Florida, and Brookside Gardens in Silver Spring.  Virtual shiva will be observed starting Wednesday, May 20.  Details available from the family.  Memorial donations may be made to Aish HaTorah Center of Greater Washington, the Berkshire Humane Society, Brookside Gardens, or the charity of your choice.
