Myra Adler Obituary

On February 19, 2021, Myra H. Adler passed away peacefully in Potomac, Maryland.  Born Myra Handlovsky in Superior, Wisconsin on May 21, 1931, Myra was a trailblazer. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, she went on to get a Pharmacy degree in Chicago.  Spending most of her adult life living in Connecticut, she and her then husband Edward Adler (deceased) raised two children, Karon Green (Micah Green) of Potomac and Steven Adler (Kim Adler) of Raeford, NC.  Myra worked as a pharmacist, volunteered on several organizations (becoming President of the Connecticut PTA) and very active in local politics and civic affairs. She then went from retail pharmacy to pharmaceutical research managing several studies early in HIV-AIDS drug research and then cardiac treatments.  Retiring from Bristol Myers Squibb, she fulfilled her dreams to travel the world.  She moved to Maryland in 2018 and is also survived by five grandchildren (Matthew and Benjamin Green and Samantha, Rebecca and Kira Adler) and 4 great-grandchildren (Charlotte, Jonathan, Juliette and Lily Green). Funeral services will be held privately at Garden of Remembrance Memorial Park. Family will be observing Shiva virtually on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Congregation B’nai Tzedek-Eternal Light Fund (bnaitzedek.org).

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
