Stacey Ellen Davis of Washington, DC, formerly of Newton, MA, 53, passed away after a two-year battle with ovarian cancer. Stacey passed away at home surrounded by her beloved sons Sammy and Eddie and close family. She leaves behind her parents Betsy and Stephen Davis. She is survived by her siblings Jenny Rosenthal (Matt) and Jon Davis (Michele) - nephews Slade, Chase, and Arni, and niece Capri. She also is survived by aunts, friends, cousins, and colleagues.
She received her undergraduate degree from Emory University and her graduate degree in environmental policy from Duke University. Stacey devoted her entire professional career to climate change policy and was a well-respected analyst and writer within the field. She dedicated 25 years to the Center for Clean Air Policy (CCAP) and more recently, 2 years to the Clean Air Task Force (CATF).
A memorial service will take place Tuesday, November 7th at 11:00 AM at Adas Israel Congregation (2850 Quebec Street NW Washington, DC 20008). Shiva will take place at a later date in Newton, MA, and Hillsdale, NJ.
Stacey was resolute in her commitment to continue contributing to the world at large even after her passing. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her name to either of the following causes, both of which were meaningful to Stacey and her family:
- Dr. Ursula Matulonis (Dana Farber) to advance the fight against ovarian cancer - Dr. Matulonis served as a close consultant to Stacey during her fight against ovarian cancer
- N Street Village - Stacey was committed to improving conditions on both a global and district level, and she and her sons have fond memories of volunteering at the Village during the holiday season
