Susan Levine Miller, wife of Julian David Miller, mother of Karen (Alan) Rubinstein and Ted (Terry Royed) Miller, and grandmother to Elana (Ben) Sigal, and Michael Rubinstein, passed away on September 25, 2021, at her home in Montgomery Village, Maryland. Susan was born to Ted and Golda Levine in New Haven, CT on July 20th, 1939. She graduated Southern Connecticut State University where she studied art, and taught art at schools in Connecticut and then in and around Washington, DC including Cynthia Warner, Regina High School, and DeMatha. Susan maintained an antique business in the Frederick area for over 25 years. She and Dave were married in 1960 in Connecticut, then lived in the New Haven area, in the New York City area, Syracuse, and New Jersey before settling in Maryland for the last 48 years of their 61-year marriage. She and Dave loved the visual and performing arts. She enjoyed the company of her friends every week in their regular social gatherings. Susan inspired her children and grandchildren with her creative spirit and loving encouragements. Her many students were also treated to her enthusiasm and care. She is survived by her sister Harriet Carchman, her husband, her children and grandchildren, and by the memories of her large and cheerful extended family. Susan’s sense of humor and tremendous good sense will be greatly missed. Graveside funeral services will be held at Judean Memorial Gardens on Thursday, September 30th at 1:30pm.
