Sagel Bloomfield Honoring the Support in our Community with Hospice Caregivers Award Program

Concern for the community is another one of Sagel Bloomfield’s hallmarks. We are dedicated to building strong community relationships with hospice caregivers in Montgomery County. We respect our community’s hospice caregivers for their valuable service of providing medical help and support for terminally ill patients and their families. To honor the hard work and give back to our community hospice caregivers, we have developed an awards program.

Each month, we will reward a caregiver by reviewing nominations submitted by coworkers, patients, friends, family and any others who would like to recognize a dedicated individual. Building on long relationship with Sagel Bloomfield, Kol Shalom welcomes this new partnership to offer worship space to families in response to changing funeral service preferences

Sagel Bloomfield Danzansky Goldberg Funeral Care, Inc. (Sagel Bloomfield), a leading full-service funeral home in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, announces its newest funeral and memorial chapel partnership with Kol Shalom Synagogue in Rockville, Maryland. This collaboration is an outgrowth of the long relationship between the two organizations and comes in response to the growing demand for accommodations around changing funeral service preferences.  

Kol Shalom’s Rabbi Jonathan Z. Maltzman has known Sagel Bloomfield’s co-managing partner, Edward Sagel, and worked with him since the early 1990s. Since he became Rabbi at Kol Shalom in 2002, members of his congregation have used Sagel Bloomfield and its predecessor Danzansky-Goldberg Memorial Chapels on numerous occasions and have appreciated the level of service and care. According to the Rabbi, the co-owners, Ed Sagel and Al Bloomfield, are very attentive to the clergy as well as the families using their services.   

In December 2015, Sagel Bloomfield will be relocating its office to an ultra-modern 6,500 square foot facility in The Talbott Center at 1091 Rockville Pike, which is located across Rockville Pike from the original Danzansky-Goldberg Memorial Chapels location. Responding to the overall trend and increasing client preference for having funeral services at the graveside or a religious facility instead of the traditional funeral chapel, Sagel Bloomfield’s new facility will not include a place for the actual funeral service to occur. Sagel Bloomfield is coordinating agreements with area synagogues, temples and other organizations to establish funeral and memorial chapel partnerships to provide families with a variety of options for the funeral service location. 

 “We are finding that more and more families prefer to come to a synagogue or have a graveside service versus going to an outside funeral chapel,” said Rabbi Maltzman of Kol Shalom. “In order to best serve Kol Shalom, we needed funeral partners who can support the desires of our members as well as advise them and help plan for this stressful, emotional and confusing time.”

Local funeral home continues community outreach by exhibiting at The Beacon 50 Expo

As of July 1, 2015, Sagel Bloomfield will begin the construction and relocation of its office to an ultra-modern 6,500 square foot facility in The Talbott Center on Rockville Pike, across the street from the current site of Sagel Bloomfield Danzansky Goldberg Funeral Home.
