About Sagel Bloomfield Danzansky Goldberg Funeral Care, Inc.

 Continuing a Family Tradition

Funeral care has always been a calling passed down through generations. Today, the next generation is actively involved in upholding our commitment to the community:

  • Daniel Bloomfield, fourth-generation funeral director
  • Sam Sagel, licensed funeral apprentice

Our team remains actively engaged in the community, supporting local temples, hospices, cemeteries, and nonprofit organizations throughout the DMV area.

Our Legacy

Founded in 1920 as Danzansky Funeral Parlor in Washington, D.C., the firm evolved through mergers and leadership changes. In 1994, Edward Sagel established Edward Sagel Funeral Direction in Maryland, while Albert Bloomfield managed his family’s Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels in New Jersey. Recognizing the opportunity to serve the greater Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia (DMV) Jewish community, they joined forces in 2014 to create Sagel Bloomfield Danzansky Goldberg Funeral Care, continuing a multi-generational tradition of compassionate service.
